FIRES:

There is a wood burning stove in the living room. It provides a wonderful and economic way to heat the house, as well as providing a lovely heart to the property. Wood is provided and you can find an axe in the garage should you require kindling. Firelighters are in the cupboard under the sink, or available at one of the supermarket in the village.

To start the fire:

Rake out the ashes into the container underneath by simply opening and closing the stainless steel rod below the grate

Push both levers below the glass outwards away from each other.
Keep the stainless steel rod vent below the grate pulled out as far as possible and light the fire using wood and firelighters.
Wait approximately 5 minutes until the wood has caught well, then shut the stainless steel rod vent and close the left hand side lever completely by moving it anti clockwise towards the middle of the glass

Do not keep the vents open as the fire will over heat and cause damage to the stove and glass. The thermostat should remain at a max of 300-400 degrees. Temperatures over 500 degrees are dangerous.

HEATING:

The heating is automatically timed to come on in the morning and the evening.
Please do not adjust these times. The thermostats are situated in the hallway next to the kitchen and downstairs in the corridor.
Should you need to raise or lower the temperatures of each zone simply press the + / – button on the thermostat. The temperature will rise or fall by 1 degree each time the button is pressed. This will only affect the temperature on that specific timed cycle and will revert back to the original settings thereafter.

WIFI

There is a Wi Fi facility at the house that is accessible at all times (You can find the password next to router in living area)

LIVING ROOM HORIZONTAL WINDOW:

It is advisable to leave this window open at all times to reduce condensation

​

RUBBISH:

Please take rubbish to the large refuse bins provided in the log cabin 50m down from the house on the left hand side.
Plastic and glass bottles get deposited separately in bins provided at the large carpark behind Durneys Pub on the high street
